Some bloggers decided to do something very benign yesterday and Open Carry for the day. As you can imagine, nothing happened.
Here in Florida the legislature did not want to go on record this year with an actual up or down vote about Open Carry. So the OC bill was changed into only helping with accidental exposure of your concealed firearm, the only talking point NRA would use. We’re still just allowed to carry unconcealed while hunting, camping or fishing. Don’t get caught hiking with your gun accessible, you’ll be arrested here. Even taking off your jacket in your own car or at a friend’s house is illegal in Florida if you are packing.
Florida Carry helps coordinate Florida Open Carry Fishing events throughout the state on the second Saturday of each Month. We’ll be out again next weekend, but in silent solitary with other bloggers, I made a point to wet a hook yesterday as well.
Once again, nobody cared about my pistol but one lady I met was very happy that it was a free fishing weekend! She had not been fishing in years.

Is there hope for a FL?
I’m not in the habit of tilting at windmills. We can get this passed in FL but it will take a lot more work.
Thanks for the link. But to be fair, this was the brainchild of Breda , Mike, and Nancy. Just their way of bringing something that is “normal” to us into the spotlight.
Excellent! thanks for taking part 🙂
